Over the past few weeks, we’ve welcomed our 2023 ‘Allies in Community Leadership’ cohort into a very special version of Wyndham’s celebrated Building Blocks program.
This program is for emerging community leaders wanting to support their community’s journey towards reconciliation and learn how to be informed allies.
This learning is through a spiral design involving immersive experiences in First Nation’s processes, fostering a deeper understanding of culture, history, truth telling, all within our local context.
Pictured are some special moments from our first session, which included a Welcome to Wadawurrung Country where family, including children, were invited to participate in the ceremony.
Later in the session, participants of the program also developed some group agreements that will hold us together in a safe learning space, and we also welcomed some of our marvellous Building Blocks alumni to share the session with us.
