It’s Global Goals Week! An annual week of action, awareness, and accountability for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Sustainable development is behind a lot of what we do at Hot House. We’re all about local action but we’re also concerned about the bigger global picture; how lots of small actions can contribute to the greater good, and how what we do ensures no one gets left behind!
Over the course of the Building Blocks community leadership program, we’ve seen the start of some really powerful community initiatives. Many of these projects often reflect one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Such as the goal of ‘Responsible Consumption and Production’ has been considered in the Green Living Wyndham - Community Composting project.
Or, the goal of ‘Gender Equality’ is central to the My Wyndham - Young women in Sport project.
Another great example is also the Happy Healthy People project, dedicated to providing health information to multicultural communities, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goal of ‘Good Health and Wellbeing’.
“Leave No One Behind” is core to the work of Hot House Community Projects, but it’s also important in the ways we live our lives and contribute in our own communities. In these strange COVID days, its an important message for us all!
